Job Description

Roth Staffing is seeking a mission-driven and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support a valued client within their External Financial Services team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the financial health of multiple community-based organizations across Connecticut, while working in a values-based, service-oriented environment.

This position will report to multiple job sites in & near Waterbury, CT This is open to candidates looking for flexible scheduling (part-time or full-time hours available). Anticipated salary range between $28-33/hourly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record and maintain financial transactions in accordance with established procedures.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
  • Prepare budgets, monitor cash flow, and generate financial reports.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including daily cash receipts.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external audit standards.
  • Collaborate with administrators and business managers to support sound financial practices.

Additional Duties:

  • Stay current with accounting standards and tools.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements.
  • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Leverage technology to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Participate in special projects and provide general support as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance.
  • Experience in non-profit, school, or community-based settings is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with QuickBooks Online and Sage is a bonus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
